During location shooting I was leading my gang of bad guys at a full horse gallop toward camera when up ahead there loomed an oak tree with a huge low branch. I couldn’t pull away because the other horses were pushing and crowding me toward the branch! The only thing I could do at the last moment is duck! Which I did, otherwise I would have been decapitated. I’ll never forget the collective "OOOOOOHHHHH!" from the crew and actors behind the camera. When I dismounted Michael said, "I hope your insurance is paid up…” and put his arms around me.

Michael was a sweetheart of a young man. And Michael Landon Jr. is too. I worked with him when I shot a 2 hour film as a pilot for Bonanza The Next Generation.
