Remembering Michael Landon ....

I had the privilege to have work with Michael twice on Highway to Heaven. He was driven to excellence, filled with compassion, generous and witty; one of the smartest men I have known in the industry of television. He always seemed to know what he wanted, he allowed his cast and crew to bring their gifts to the work and if there was an issue, he always seemed to make light of it, cajoling the participants to simple and easy adjustments.
I especially loved Michael's dedication to the veterans behind the scenes. I worked with several part-time senior citizens who Michael took care of, giving them work when other production companies may have not appreciated their lasting value. Make-up artists he had worked with on Bonanza; he kept them on because he knew that they were still excellent at what they could bring to the production. Most importantly, because Michael was a loyalist. What a wonderful man, I was very privileged to have worked with him.
Thank you for allowing me to share my thoughts.
