At the risk of sounding 'sappy' (I don't care), I loved Michael Landon's work in all of the series that I have seen.
What is not frequently mentioned (even in the bios I have read), is the very strong moral and religious undertone in everything that he did and in the adaptations as to the kind of character that he portrayed. While it is certainly plausible for him to have had human foibles (don't we all?), what I see is that he did have a love of family and values in spite of what he may have been susceptible to in life. He seems to have insisted on there being a lesson to learn about how one SHOULD live life. That is especially true of the Little House and Highway to Heaven series. A credit to his basic character!
More young people should watch this kind of series for its value in teaching long forgotten values on TV today. It was entertaining as well as instructive if we would but look at these character building scenes for this. With the depth and sincerity that he played his roles, he could have very aptly portrayed a bad boy but I am glad for what he added to a TV role that is so severely lacking today. We need more of his kind of acting, directing and producing. Hollywood and everyone else seems to think that we want go to “hell in a hand basket" but there are still those who don't want to see a society gone mad in the movies. We see enough of it in real life! My hat is off to the work of this man!
Long live his legacy!

I watched Michael Landon for years on Little House on the Prairie as a child. I did not have the best childhood and I used to dream about Michael Landon being my father. He touched me deeply through this television show. Thank you Michael for the years you gave us on Little House on the Prairie. We love you.

What I love about Michael Landon, he was a wonderful, dear-hearted person whom, as an actor and person had a spiritual, wonderful and caring personality. Of course, I did not know him personally, but I'm a pretty good, judge-of-character. I see people in the way God would like us to see people. I was a true and inspired fan of Bonanza, Little House on the Prairie and Highway to Heaven. Michael Landon was a person who cared about people, regardless of race. I know he has a comfortable spot in heaven as a savoir of Jesus Christ. There will never be, another Michael Landon. He was an original! I was heartbroken when he passed 7/1/91. God bless Michael Landon and his family.

Simply, when things go wrong from day to day nothing can warm my heart like an episode of Little House and Michael's smiling eyes. To his family, thank you for sharing him with us.
