I am familiar with Michael's work primarily on Little House on the Prairie which I began watching when I was six years old. I was a little girl living with an absent/alcoholic father and in desperate need of a male role model. That's where Michael came in. He gave me a sense of hope that there was a better life out there and taught me much of what I know about kindness, "doing unto others", and the value of family. I still get teary eyed at just about every episode, particularly "Child of Pain" where Charles locks a boy's alcoholic father up for a time and puts him to work until he sobers up. That was the day he became my hero. He was the closest friend to a lonely child for a very long time. I'm 36 now and that hasn't changed. I married a man very similar to Charles, down to the carpentry, masonry and strong work/family/God ethics. He has been a driving influence in my life. As a fellow writer, I'm also aware of how much of Michael went into his character and the show as a whole. The show was an expression of his heart. He will always have a place in mine. Much love.
May God Bless You,

Hello,
I am 60 years old now and I am a big fan of Michael Landon’s "Little Joe". Bonanza was my favorite TV program. I even made myself a picture book with (post) cards and photos of the Bonanza actors.
One month ago I bought 8 seasons of Little House on the Prairie on DVD and I am watching these almost every day. Then I think: when every family was more like that family, there was less hate and pain in this world. My daughter, who is 36 years of age now, and my 3 grandsons are watching the series as well. We think the series is very beautiful and the characters excellently played by the actors.
Michael Landon has always been my favorite actor and his death on the first of July 1991 came as a shock to me, at that time we were on Holiday in Sweden. I often watch "Find a Grave" to see Michael’s and Lorne Greene's (father Ben Cartwright in Bonanza) grave. I also watch the cemetery in Culver City with Google Earth. For me it is hard to understand that he is resting there in peace. In 2003, my husband died all of a sudden at the age of 57 and I carry that loss with me every day. Michael's wife must feel the same way. They were way too young! I think a lot of Michael and his family.
