Michael Landon

I will always remember and respect Michael Landon as a man who consistently made quality television shows suitable for viewing by the entire family. I loved all of his shows, but I enjoyed him most as Charles Ingalls on Little House on the Prairie. Every time I watch the show, I am inspired by him to be a better person. He was a great man who is still loved and missed by his many fans.

My husband and I have long enjoyed every one of Michael Landon's shows. We especially enjoyed his Highway to Heaven series. My son and I recently started watching and enjoying the Little House on the Prairie shows. My son (13 years old) really loves Michael and he has been such a great influence in his life. I was so sorry that Michael passed at only 54 years of age of such an awful disease and even more so now we think of it because my husband's brother Mark just passed away in February, at the age of 48, of the same dreaded disease. I was wondering if Michael's family is helping in the fight to find a cure for this type of cancer? I sure hope that they are in his memory because they have the most influence to do so and wouldn't Michael want it that way and boy wouldn't he smile down the day they found that much needed cure. We will miss our dear Mark and have missed Michael ever since that day in July 1991. God rest both their souls.

I wish I had met him, felt I knew him and will meet him some day! He was a survivor and fighter but God needed him to continue his work in person. Looking back on Michael's many visits on the Tonight Show with Johnny, I remember him discussing his Cancer and a few "radical" treatments and how he was coping. What strength and courage let alone humility he displayed. There certainly was a true love between Johnny and Michael. They laughed a lot that night, but then I also remember the tears!

I think Michael is one of the most brilliant people I know. My favorite show is Little House on the Prairie and where I live it comes on about 6 times a day on different channels. I have seen each episode a million times that I think I know them by heart. I have my children now watching them all the time with me. I just love Michael and it was one of the saddest days ever when he died. He will always live in my house.
