This is truly the place where I know I can say what Michael Landon meant to me. I had grown up reading the books by Laura Ingalls Wilder so I was very familiar with the Ingalls family. I had always wanted to watch Bonanza and sometimes I did but my dad was not a fan of westerns so I didn't get to see the show as much as I'd like but was in love with Michael anyway. When I heard the news about a new show coming on with him in it and it being about the books I had read as a child I was in heaven, so excited. The show was just as good as I thought it would be, all those relationships like Nellie Oleson and Mrs. Oleson, Michael stayed very close to the books in the beginning. I did not blame him for taking some artistic license with the later shows, they were all good. I graduated from high school and started working and ended up working on the night that Little House on the Prairie was on. I missed a lot of episodes (being before the age of VCR's and DVD's). It was not until I got married in 1985 that I got to see all the episodes that I had missed, then in reruns. My new husband worked 3rd shift and at 5pm every day we would lay on the couch and watch an episode of Little House on the Prairie. In our early marriage we learned so much from that show on how to be a good wife and good husband and we also learned some parenting skills. My youngest son was born in March 1991; a couple weeks after he was born the world learned that Michael was sick. I prayed for him every day, and the day that I learned that he had died was indeed one of the worst days of my life. I really felt like I had lost a very dear friend. I loved him. That night I lay in bed and just cried for the longest time. I taped all the coverage of his death and for years I would play it on the anniversary of his death. I will NEVER forget him and can't wait until I see him in heaven one day.

Dear Landon Family,
I hope you all are doing fine and are in good health! My name is Susanne and I wanna tell you how much I appreciated Michael Landon. I really enjoyed his TV shows Little House on the Prairie (A New Beginning) and Highway to Heaven as well as the western show Bonanza. All of them were and are on several times on TV over here. I’m very glad about Michael Landon’s splendid work on these TV shows. They very often made my day when they were shown on TV. I loved how he played Charles Ingalls. He was so kind and friendly there and I’m sure a lot of fans really miss him. It was a very great role and I read that he really loved and enjoyed it. So did I!
I’m gonna pray for your family!!! Take good care of yourselves!
