Michael Landon

Michael Landon has been in my life for most of my life. He entered my life as Little Joe Cartwright, when I was about 9 years old. I had the biggest crush on him, and looking forward to Sunday night at 9 o'clock helped me through the insecurity and uncertainty of adolescence. The feeling was like no other, and Michael had made an indelible impression in my world. I continued to watch him in Little House, and then just got involved in other things as I got older, and didn't watch much TV for a while. Michael re-entered my life when I discovered via the Internet so many others like myself who had been fans for so long. It just blew me away to find out all that we had in common. It has made me feel good to learn that Michael, the real person outside the TV characters, was a down-to-earth, caring human being, who despite his success, never considered himself better than anyone else. I have read many stories of his friendliness and kindness from ordinary fans who had the good fortune to have met him at one time or another. I just want his family to know that he touched the life of this fan in an unique and lasting manner, and I smile a very broad grin when thinking about him as we celebrate his 70th birthday.

I am 26 years old and to this very day my family and friends can attest that Little House on the Prairie is my above all favorite show of all time. I have a 3 year old boy that I named Landon, and I still watch the show religiously thanks to Hallmark Channel, TV Land, and DVD's.

My favorite episodes would have to be Sweet Sixteen, He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not, and Laura Ingalls Wilder. Michael Landon had such a close knit relationship with everyone and that could be easily seen.

I so enjoy watching Michael Landon over and over. And the amazing things he did that made Laura (Melissa Gilbert) who she is today. We know she is forever grateful.

I so wish that Michael would have lived on to see his children follow in his footsteps.

Thank you.

Michael, whom I never met, changed my life, with every different performance and series. Every different character that he played was special in every aspect. I believe that he wanted the simple life and cared greatly for children. He became the "love of my life" and will be for all time. May his legacy live on....................
