I worked with Michael at Paramount Studios doing the pilot episode of the Love Story series, called Love Came Laughing. Michael was warm, open and encouraging as a director. He had great ideas and was terrific at getting actors to understand what he wanted and helpful in reaching the attainment of that understanding. For example he said “you’re nervous about meeting her so what if you lean on the table and slip off of it, using the embarrassment in the scene.” Then he showed me how to slip off the table in an honest way. One day it was raining and we were waiting in the stage with lots of actors to shoot and the hours were going by and it was getting pretty boring so Michael challenged everyone to a push up contest. He would do more on his finger tips than anyone could do on their hands and he did. It lightened the day the same way Michael lightened our lives with his warm personality and wonderful talent. Even my mom says so, Michael was great with her when she visited the set and moms know.
